Just watching the lunar eclipse

The bluz-gal and I took our camping chairs out onto the middle of frozen Memory Lake and sat there for 2 hours as the eclipse progressed. It was a balmy +9degreesF with a slight breeze from the East.... but the mosquitoes weren't bad at all. Pretty neat sight.

Hi,

I watched from about the start (7:30 plus, local time) until the eclipse was full, all the while plagued by high clouds, so all the pictures I took look nice and soft with little halos and the deep red orange color came thru the clouds as a bit of a pastel. Came home from where I was, getting ready to put everything away and the clouds broke. Clear as can be as the moon got its light back. All in all it was ok... especially for a "super blood wolf moon!" Last one of the decade, too. ;)

I’ve watched them before, but the winds were blowing 20-30 and the temp was around 10. Way too cold to set up a chair on the deck for hours. Besides it was past my bedtime. It is a cool sight if your in the mood.

What ^ said! Wind chill was down to 3 so the wife and I stepped out a couple times, took a look, and retreated to the warmth of the living room.

Just don't do like the two Darwin candidates in Florida did - lay down in the middle of a road to watch it. Yes, they were run over (by a Police car). Unfortunately, they survived.
