Just so you'll know............

I've had a medical problem for some time, passing blood through my bladder. I went to the doctor for an exam and a surgical procedure. The doctor removed a tumor from my bladder and sent it to the pathologist.

Yesterday's visit my doctor confirmed I had a "non-invasive bladder cancer." This meant there is no "root" to the tumor, and it was removed entirely by the process.

The procedure is to monitor me for three month periods for the first year. If no cancer reoccurs then six month intervals for the nest year, then yearly thereafter. This type of cancer grows only on the lining of the bladder and does not spread, but may pop up again, thus the reason for close observation.

I don't want to make a big issue of this, but did feel like sharing with y'all here on the forum. Y'all are like family to me, and I do appreciate the fact that many of you have shared similar problems.

Needless to say, I solicit your prayers.

Prayers sent for a full recovery. I'm waiting on some biopsies myself from a colonoscopy I had Monday. It was a fun procedure, doctor had to pull out the "big'un" cause he said my colon was extra long...wouldn't you know anything big on me would be full of ... well you know.

It's an ugly diease I know you didn't specifically request them but you will be on my prayer list.

My late wife had bladder cancer, and it was completely removed with no ill effects. I'm in remission with colon cancer. Sometimes I believe the treatment and after effects are worse than the disease.

In my prayers. My FIL had bladder cancer. I noticed he drank a ton of diet Coke. Never once did I see him drink water. I have always wondered if there was any relationship between the diet Coke and his cancer.

God bless you, Bob. In January of '17 I had my left kidney removed because of two large malignant tumors, and have been on the follow-up regimen since then. So far, so good, with no signs of recurrence. Count your blessings, and be of good cheer! Life ain't but one day at a time, anyway.

Melanoma here. 12 month visits for me now. Mrs saved my life. I never would have seen the nasty "mole" on the back of my upper thigh. That was in 2009. One biopsy, one surgery. So far, so good.

Blood in my urine one morning. After numerous tests and visits to the urologist I had my right kidney removed August of 2007. Saw the oncologist for 6 years until he said I didn't have to come back anymore. I still see my urologist for follow ups and peace of mind.

Bob, when you said blood in your urine, I was hoping it was in your bladder and not your kidney. Good luck.

Lots of us cancer survivors here, no? Probably has something to do with age. I had prostate cancer about eight months ago. Doctor said it was an aggressive type and I needed a prostatectomy. So far all looks good but I'm already tired of Depends.
