I could spend a lot of time studying those pics. I had to chuckle when I saw the one of John firing the BP gun where the charging handle had turned loose.

That's a common sight with the Walker! One of the reasons why the later Dragoons were much better guns. They moved the latch from the hinge area to the tip end of the rammer.
