Just saw where Higgins had passed away. Didn't know he was an Air Force vet. I always liked him.

Hi,

I've seen Mr. Hillerman in a few other roles, and something in the back of my mind makes me wonder each time if he'll do a reprise of Higgins in some form? And Blume's right: were it not for Higgins and "The Lads" there wasn't much to make the show what it was. Quite the good job of casting there IMHO. RIP, Sir.

I agree that he made Magnum PI a really fun show. The windscreen, the bonnet etc. Classic! Rest in Peace, John.

By the end of the series, I was pretty much convinced Higgins was really Robin Masters.

Pretending to fight with Magnum, when he was really his benefactor. Too bad every combat veteran couldn't have a free cottage on an island in paradise.

Rest in peace indeed, he really did make the show.

I too felt a sadness at the loss of a good actor who kept us entertained in many things. He will be well remembered for his excellent performance as Higgins on Magnum PI. I also often chuckled at his other stuff in "Blazing Saddles," and "High Plains Drifter."
As the saying goes;
"RIP & Thanks for the memories."
