No not a cowboy post but a music topic. I was looking through my old vinyl and saw this album. I bought it back in high school. What a great album. Funk #49 just wants to be played loud. Some pops and ticks but they disappear when turned up.

Mine are standing up but packed tightly in boxes. I've moved more times than I have set up my stereo. Yamaha turntable, Harmon Kardon receiver and Harmon Kardon CD player, NHT speakers. Old, but a good set up. As soon as we get around to finishing our basement, that will be the first thing to put together if I can remember how to run all the wires.

That is some good music. Joe Walsh is such a versatile guitarist. Back in the day he was a rocker and wrote and played some classics and yet he played the intricate solo on Hotel California along with Don Felder. I've also heard him play the solo from Something, by George Harrison and he can pour the emotion in with perfection. Very talented.

Here are pictures of both ends of my "office" as my wife calls my "room". I don't have a good picture of the middle, but it has reloading bench, cleaning bench and lots of cabinet storage. It's my fun place.

Not the original Funk 49 from the album but a long jam with Ringo Star on the drums
Great video! It was Ringo/Russ Kunkel on drums, Walsh/Waddy Wachtel on guitars, Leland Sklar on bass, and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) on keyboards.

In '72 or so I saw a warm up band called The Section with Sklar and Kunkel. The entire set was instrumental--amazing! Then James Taylor came out and they were his back up band. So, they went from hard driving rock to laid back James Taylor. Sklar, Kunkel and Wachtel were very famous session musicians with hundreds of credits. It's great to see them still at it!

I saw Joe Walsh as a guest, not an act, at a Stones concert in Nashville '15. He played Life is Good and the crowd loved it!

Here's Funk 49 on the Howard Stern show. They were tight! You won't hear much from Stern.

Turn it up! (There ya go)

I have kept all of my vinyl. Somewhere around 400 albums. James Gang was a favorite. Saw them in concert while in college. Joe Walsh is still a favorite. The song 'Life's Been Good To Me So Far' is one for the ages.
My middle son is kind of a throwback hippie even though he's only 52 years old.
But he loves the vintage vinyl.
