Ok LC9 owners... I have heard great reviews from you guys about the build, the contour, and the shooting of this gun. But, there has been one big question that was discussed greatly prior to this gun hitting our hands, that now seems to be over looked... is this a pocket gun? So, how do you carry the LC9 and why?

I have been CCW'ing mine in a front pocket holster to get the feel as a 2nd gun. I only have about 500 rds. through it and want to shoot it some more before I feel 100% comfortable as my only CCW although it has never choked on quality defense ammo, DPX, Pow'Rball, Speer 124 gr. +p, etc.

One thing I have noticed is that the magazine finger extension is a detriment to quick retrieval from the pocket holster so I am going to change it for the flush one.

I carry my LC9 in a number of ways.
Mostly in a fanny pack but, IWB & ankle holsters ar in my rotation......

My pants are to tight to carry the LC9 in my pocket BUT, my LCP fits nicely.

Lateck,

Isn't it kinda big for a pocket pistol?? I don't have one, it's plastic.

A Beretta Bobcat is my pocket pistol. It's the next gun I want Ruger to copy, if they can put a stainless frame on it and leave off the lawyer junk.

I have put mine in my pocket, and while I don't think it is too big, that won't be my primary mode of carrying it. (I do have a pocket holster for it.) In the car, it will be in the console. If I do carry it on my person, it will more than likely be OWB...once I find the right holster. (I'm very picky.)

Sorry Yawn....mines duct taped to my belly (since I dont own one), I wanted to see the poll...like 2 others did.

I have no problem pocket carrying mine. But when I buy pants or shorts one of my greatest considerations is how big are the pockets. I always go for huge pockets.

So far it's a pocket gun, but only because I can't find a holster I like yet. I just got it last Friday though.

Ha ha... did the same thing... though you can see the results if you are not logged in. Anyway, it is interesting to me that those adding comments are mentioning how unpocket freindly it seems to be. I am interested to see how this turns out. Would be funny if bear chest won!

I have it in an Uncle Mike's #4 Pocket Holster. I wear Cargo Pants and Cargo Shorts, so my pockets are big enough to conceal it.

Cheers!

Hmmm... half and half for a "pocket" gun is not a horrible showing, but not the best showing either. For those who don't pocket carry, why not get the SR9c instead? For those who pocket carry... how comfortable do you find it and how big are your pockets?

My LC9 will not fit in my jeans front pocket. If I wear looser pants such as cargo it will fit in front pocket however it is uncomfortable for me. I care mine in a DeSantis Superfly in Cargo pants/shorts leg pocket or IWB.

I don't have an LC9. As a rule, I've carried my KAHR P-9 50%-65% of the time as a pocket gun. A lot has to do with the pants, and the weather.

".... and leave off the lawyer junk."

Ain't gonna happen. At that price point, Ruger needs to make ONE gun that meets ALL States' safety standards and other 'lawyer junk'.

Im new to the forum and I just bought my LC9 a couple of days ago. I was on the waiting list for a Kahr CM9 but I didn't know how long the wait was going to be so I opted for the Ruger instead. I carried it in pocket all day yesterday in a desantis superfly. At first it felt a bit heavy but after a while I hardly noticed it. BTW I was wearing cargo pants and it fit comfortably. You can tell something is in my pocket, but not what it is. I'm thinking of getting a belly band of some sort for summer carry.

Glad to see we have some real he-men who duct tape it to their hairy belly. I tried that but found that a quick draw was way too slow (and painful). Guess I am just too much of a wuss to use a real man carry.
