Is this normal for a Single Six?

Fellas, this SS is new, with a tight cylinder. Are these drag marks on the inside normal? You can see where the 'teeth' on the cylinder are rubbing. Seems to function fine. Cylinder looks like it's not centered in the frame; the top (near the top strap) has less clearance than the bottom.

This isn't my gun, but I would appreciate some imput. I think a trip to Ruger is in order. What say you?

see lots of that from time to time, nature of the beast with 'stainless' and the lack of MORE 'hand fitting'...... seldom do they "
Line up" perfectly or evenly top to bottom.................could have been a 'burr' hung up or whatever...if not happy then contact customer sevice and 'ask" what they can do,being its on the "inside", not deemed 'cosmetic' or critical to the operation, once the drag
"stops" ( wore in) it can and will "move" if it dragged still or hung up, then have it addressed..no, its not good to have a rimfire cylinder & cartridges "drag" across the recoil shield, and yes, we've seen this occur............just my .02 cents

Not uncommon and not a big issue if it shoots straight. It will wear in and I wouldn't go thru the hassel of sending it back.

Does it just have a tight spot when the cylinder is revolved by hand or tight all the way around? Either way, it it shoots well, just speed up the wear in process by locating where it rubs on the back of the cylinder and polish it by block sanding with 1000 grit paper until it rolls freely. If it rubs all the way around, polish the breech face in the frame instead.

I'd definitely inspect the cylinder's ratchet "teeth" for burrs. I'd also inspect the "muzzle" end of the cylinder and check end-shake (it seems there may NOT be any, eh?). That cylinder needs a wee bit of "breathing room".

Looks like a trip is in order to me. I agree, you need to have a wee-bit of room between the two.
