I don't have the means to keep up with you guy's, acquiring stuff... (especially those of you who are..." thinging the herd"...)

But I was able to make 2 purchases this last year.... Both by swapping whiskey..... Now I gotta tell ya.... it wasn't great whiskey... but then it all takes you to the same place right?

I ended up with this thing... Determined it is a 7mm IHMSA.... because of the difficulty getting it rolling.... I got the Homer Simpson stare when I explained how challenging it would be just to squeeze the trigger for real...
Just a case of cheap whiskey sealed the deal.....

And this beauty..... A BSA Mk III* The cost of ammo up here was also a contributing factor..... So another case of Whiskey.. slightly more expensive actually, but I have less than $250 into both guns..... (and booze ain't cheap up here neither!!)...

I guess where there is a will there is a way!! They were happy and so am I.. I have 303 brass, and will be lookin for brass for the XP, this spring..... If'n I have to, I'll make it.... but I ain't lookin forward to it.....

unless you traded a blind horse for a gun.... I win!!

ciao y'all......

I believe the 7mm I is based on the 300 savage case....you will have to check that out of course...I have a loaded round in front of me and indeed it appears to be just a necked down 300 Savage...

Good deal. And that’s a nice XP-100! Sign up at the specialty pistol forum and ask about brass and Im sure you’d be able to get some from some of the members there...

Strongly suggest you get a Lee Collet neck sizing die. It will extend the life of the expensive brass.

I don't make whiskey with my, "water distillation unit"..... however I do use corn cob and sugar to clean it out every so often..... 8)
(I'm just kidding..... I haven't finished building it yet.... )...

I'll start looking for components this summer.. I plum ran out of time and $$$$ this summer, as I have to put most my cash towards getting through winter....
It can be hard internetting when I have to travel to steal wifi...... I just don't have the time to surf casually any more..
I'd kinda like to use the XP on a hunt...... I needed both guns zero percent.... but I couldn't pass up the deal... they are both worth lot more than I paid.....
A Mk III* was my first deer rifle...... and I have always loved the enfields... So I guess I was just trying to recapture a bit of my youth....

I think most of us do that to some extent. I have guns and continue to buy guns that I had or wanted when I was young. Helps us hang onto some of our youth!!
