I have an early, low-frame blued Security-Six, 4" barrel, serial #150-16xxx. Condition is very good, with a little cylinder ring and a touch of holster wear at the muzzle and lower frame. Does it have any premium over a later model in similar condition?

I'd say not, unless you find a specialized collector of "Six Series" who just doesn't have one and HAS to have one. Otherwise it's just a nice "Six". And some people avoid them because of the difficulty of finding aftermarket or replacement grips, which can make them a little harder to sell.

Depends on trhe individal. I collect the six series and prefer the high back frame. I would not pay a premium for the low back unless it was mint in box.
