For me, the only thing worth reading in it is the "Armed Citizen" section, and occasionally one of the featured historical firearm articles.
Yeah, they seem to think that everyone is looking for the latest combat, rambo, ninja, super high capacity, "aircraft grade aluminum", plastic stocked gun made in Turkey. I flip through it in 5-10 minutes and pitch it in the recycle bin.

In defense, the NRA is under new leadership and they are trying extremely hard to "right the ship" . Did you read Mr. Hamlins column and how about the column written by the President, Mr. Bachenberg? IMO, They are really trying to get the NRA back on track. Also, the column By Mr. Commerford (NRA-ILA Director), it gives a lot of good info about what is going on fighting the lawsuits that are being overturned and helping us Pro-Gun advocates.

I just ask NRA members to read the whole magazine, you actually might enjoy it even though it is a bit "slimmer", I think it will get better as time goes on.

BTW, even though I am a Patriot Life Benefactor Member, I was loath to donate money to the NRA when the now ex-Executive VP was in charge. I could see the waste and only donated to the NRA-ILA since they were/are the ones doing the ground pounding legal work and talking to Congress and such. Now that the new leadership is trying to get things straightened out, I willbe reevaluating my donations if I see good, needed changes are happening.

I agree that the new management team has taken over which is a very good thing. My eyes just used to get glazed over with the constant rah-rah-rah-sis-boom-bah editorials that rarely reported our flag being planted on conquered territory, so I ignore the current editorial content.

I just need to give them some time. I read the magazine as a firearms and shooting enthusiast, much less interested (and I know I should be) in the political arena.

I switched to the digital format just as soon as it became available...As I've done with all other publications I take. But, as far as I'm concerned, the NRA can ditch the magazines, TV show and just concentrate on fighting the gun grabber cultists with those funds instead. Seems far more important to me.

Why should it be any different from the rest of the “rags”? Some issues I’ll read cover to cover, others not so much.

I’ve been assigned jury duty way too many times. Unfortunately I never get picked to serve on a jury

I mentioned it to my wife. She said maybe you should stop taking your NRA magazines to read!

I don’t know if it is related or not, but it is the only reading material I have.

Seems most magazine now have about 60 pages. Count the title page, the table of contents page, subtract all the full page ads, all the half page ads, the one third page ads, and you are lucky if there is 20 pages of actual content. Not worth the cost of subscription in most cases.

I too thought it was thinner but it always has been advertisement heavy. I'm a Life Member so it's free. I enjoy scanning through it and the "Armed Citizen" page! I suspect that eventually they will go to digital only if they're lawyers say it's OK! I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now knowing Amanda and others are trying to get the NRA back on track!

I jumped in and started reading last night. I skip over the "Armed Citizen" ----always save the best for last. I made it just past the 1/2 point and will finish it tonight. Got a bit bored hearing every detail about the Mossberg short shotgun. Guess I have no need, so have little interest. I learned long ago in my younger years that a pistol grip on a shotgun is sort of useless for my needs---mostly a critter getter in the dark. Pretty sure this would also be effective for "home protection". Dam hard to stay on a moving critter while holding a flashlight while using a pistol grip. One of the old wingmasters is equipped with a regular buttstock but does have an 18.5" barrel. I also have a bubba edition of a flashlight on the end and an extended magazine. Yes there is some tape involved, but it was cheap and easy and most of all very effective. Lots more control with a shoulder stock.

Since I like to sit on my porch and read the printed copy is the way I will go. I also read all the articles, regardless of what they may be about. I figure that sometimes I may learn something new. As was previously said; they are trying to make changes but they won't happen overnight.
