American Handgunner has an interesting custom SP-101 for the Gun of the Monthhttp://www.americanhandgunner.com/Handgungiveaway.html

showcasing Magnaports gunsmithing.

Does it bother anyone else that Ruger doesn't make an SP101 in a similiar configuration? Instead we got the 327. :(

To fix the link put a space between Month and http://.
Why would Ruger make an SP like that? Leave something for the gunsmiths to do. :D :D

ThanksJimbo357 for fixing the link. Should have done it manually vs. using the "URL" button.

Members are always asking who works on Rugers and Magnaport is one of the outfits that does. Just don't think they became as well known as some others. Also, the picture shows their transluscent front sight, the C-more that would seem to pick up light well. Two things I would change is get rid of the porting on the barrel and replace the S&W sight with a Bowen S&W Rough Country.

One thought that comes to mind is they do a lot of EDM in the shop. Sometime back on one of the forums some individuals stated when trying to do the Iowegan hammer lightening they were having a hard time with carbide drills. Perhaps, the ticket is to use EDM and one would be more flexible in doing the cutouts..

Some of their cosmetic "touches" arn't for me, but they do very good work. I've had them do work for me (five minute hop down the E-way), and they are great folks to deal with, and the labs say send more Milk-Bones....

I think it's pretty cool looking, but for some reason it puts me in mind of Taurus products.... :?

Magnaporting and those huge sights ruined it for a carry piece. Is the trigger guard skeletonized, too? These "improvements" to the $2300 (lol) revolver was the results of someone's answer to a question that shouldn't have been asked. Just my opinion.

Maybe they should have drilled some holes in the underlug and made it look like a submarine?  :?

About the only modifications I don't care for are the green sight blade, the Mag-na-port job, the vent rib barrel, the jeweled trigger and hammer, polished cylinder flutes, and what appears to be lightening holes in the trigger guard. Otherwise, that's one nice little gun!

I guess I just prefer them the way they came from Ruger.

I do like this one, however:
