My wife and I were having lunch today at an Indian restaurant that we like on the west side of San Francisco, fairly close to the ocean. The place was uncrowded, seeing as how it was mid-afternoon... Suddenly the doors swung open and the place was swarmed with a classful of first graders! They were all hues: Asian, black, white, Hispanic, and a couple of little Indian girls...
The owner came out and it was immediately evident that those were his little girls and that this was a sort of show and tell for their class.
He brought out dishes of Indian food and soon all were woofing down chicken tandoori, naan, rice, vindaloo and all sorts of other goodies. They were still passing around samples as we left...the owner was just beaming.
Tell ya one thing: these kids are not gonna grow up to be picky eaters!
