My wife's curling iron died so she had to purchase a new one this morning. One of the instructions in the manual was: " Do not use while sleeping." :D It's a good thing they are warning everyone.

Read further down, it will tell you not to use it in the shower. Don't ask me why I can't figure it out.

Was in a ladder safety seminar once where the presenter was from a ladder manufacturer and there was a discussion on the modifications and safety features on ladders and someone in the class asked the instructor what the next safety feature was going to be on their ladders and he answered... another warning label... as soon as someone does a new stupid thing with a product and then tries to sue the manufacturer they add another warning.

Yes instructions are important, when I was in pharmacy school one of the local docs told me this tale. He had a man who had a ear infection who he gave a oral antibiotic (capsule) with the instruction to take one 3 times a day and come back when you have taken them all for a recheck. At the recheck the doc looked in the guys ear and it was full of powder. Instead of taking the capsules he was opening them and dumping the powder in his ear. From that day on every time I saw that guy I had a hard time not busting a gut laughing. Oh yeah he was a government critter.
