Folks,
My local gun shop, Shooting Sports Pro Shops,
Address: 525 Florida 16 #129, St Augustine, FL 32084
Phone:(904) 829-1177

Has on consignment a pair, sequential serial numbered, Single Action Ruger .41 Magnums, in SS with engraving.
Price is just under $1200 for the pair.

Now, I have no use for them and am not interested in these specific revolvers, but I am curious. Did Ruger make matched pairs of SA revolvers like these specifically for collectors? Do they appreciate in value? The price seems low for collectors items.

Sincerely curious, here in beautiful St. Augustine,
Geoff
Who remembers the engraved and boxed special edition .45 Colt 1911s of years back. They don't do that no mo'.

Not long after the Vaquero came out, Ruger did make an effort to sell consecutive numbered guns to customers, but not on a grand scale. One would more likely be able to pair a couple guns up if a dealer just happened to get them in that way.

As Chet noted, also they did "close out" these guns at a very, very LOW price , my friends shop over here in Geauga County bought them for UNDER $299 each , with the shipping and he got like a dozen of them, yes some 'consecutive' numbers, he had a tough time selling them, made not much on each one and over quite a bit of time. At this same time, I recall, was Davisdsons, bought like 17 pallets of Vaqueros, my dealer, Bill got a bunch of them , really cheap..........time to time, when Ruger "cleans up house, or closes out, there are some REAL deals...the 1999 50th anniversary autos went for $189, less even if you 'prepaid', the 2003 Single Sixes went for a couple of dollars over $200....the 50th anniversary Blackhawks went for well UNDER $1000 ($895) for a MATCHED pair and they threw in the glass display case (CDNN)
yessir some REAL deals, and at those prices they are "shooters"

It's also possible that the Baron Tech engraving outsourcing did the scratching on them. It'd be interesting to see the actual model info off the boxes.
The devil is in the details.

The only stainless .41 Mags that I can think of are the Hunter and the 5.5" Bisley. The Bisley has a rollmarked cylinder which is often called "engraved". So that might be what these are.

That's right, great point, those early (original Vaqueros) did NOT come in 41 magnum!! hhmm, makes it more interesting, and again, without a picture to find out if its really "engraving" or as Bob noted "rollmarkings"......
