In my "Madness" I did the unthinkable!!!

Often times I get bored, my mind wonders. Sometimes it's just the madness in my head. I mean who really would take a Hawkeye Pistol in 256 and engrave it? Something to think about, I quess. But, I created this, and to be honest about it. I like it! Comments and opinions are welcome. Enjoy....Scott

Great! Have been in an off and on again discussion about this mission.......Have an extra so no issue there. Seems too long a wait and no room in schedule(s). I am too old in the tooth to sit and wait........... :wink:

Scott,, the work looks very nicely done. And,, as many would say; "It's your gun to do as you wish with!"

As a collector,, I'd say,, it would have been a bit "better" if you'd taken one that had been "modified" in some manner,, (such as having holes drilled in the topstrap,) and had it used as the project gun. A reweld in the holes,, engraved, & reblued,, etc!

Still it looks very nice!

The problem we have is Hawkeyes have an XR-3 Red grip frame. Ruger never made Stags or Ivories for that frame. Only for XR-3. So Ajaxs or bust ...lol....Scott

The engraver was James White. From Palmer Alaska. He works Exclusively for Smith and Wesson. But if your an Alaskan, and a friend of his. You can sneak one in...lol. great guy too. Scott

Your right - XR3-Red. But, you can always put an XR3 with a widened slot for the trigger or have what's behind door #3. A mixture of XR3, XR3-Red and SBH, Colt..........
