Speer 75 grain Gold Dot from a 20" barrel. The shot was at 212 yards and she dropped in her tracks. The doe was on a logging road above me against another hillside. She weighed 202# pounds empty which puts her around 230# live, one of the largest bodied I ever killed.

The projectile lost 21 grains exactly however that was after busting her rib, transecting the heart and lungs and then exiting through her spine. It must have had much energy left as I found it on the ground under her.

All of the petals were retained but most were folded backward and under the base.

Yes, that is impressive. Is that the SBR load?
I've been very impressed with the 55 grain 'Gold Dot' factory 223 load especially when fired from a 10.5" barrel. It does a great job on medium size deer.
That's certainly a BIG doe. You weren't hunting near a nuclear facility or chemical plant were you? ;)

Nice shot, that’s impressive at 212 yds. Good bullet choice and perfect shot placement, proves a heavy .223 load will do real work when you put it where it counts.

This was from a 20" barrel, the velocity according to my labradar is 2752 (avg) at the muzzle. I tested this load at 50 yards and it fragmented heavily from the longer barrel but did not from my buddies 11.5" ar pistol
