Import From Canada

Hello - one for sale on gunbroker. Can it/how does it, get from Canada to the US? Sounds risky, is it?

You need to ask the seller and your local FFL.

Last time I checked, a FFL in the US had to hold some kind of license or special permission with the Canadians. A Canadian dealer or FFL (whatever they call it there) has to make a similar reciprocal agreement with a US based FFL.

Seems clear as mud and it’s been a few years since I researched it. I finally gave up on getting that particular gun I was looking to buy.

I think there’s a few members here from north of the border ….. hope they see your thread.

I’ve gotten the impression from the Canadians that it’s almost impossible for them to import guns from the US. Not sure about the other direction.

Looks like we are headed in the same direction as Canada when it comes to guns. Maybe send them all to Mexico? Won't be to long and Mexico will be a great place to live when all the Mexicans are in the US and we can get good deals on guns and live where there are no gun laws.

In Mexico, you can,by law, have one handgun and nine long guns ,per household.All must be registered.

My son moved to Texas 5 years ago last year I sent him some of his guns 5 antiques and 4 modern Its pretty easy the buyer just has to be PATIENT nothing happens fast whit government involvement. Antiques went right to his house the moderns had to go to an FFL.

I’m glad it wasn’t a headache for you. These were guns your son already owned?

Would it work the same if you were selling your guns to someone in the US?

Yes it would work the same. We used a broker out of Abbotsford B.C. they do it all you just pay and wait. I'm going to say wait again because it was about a two monthe WAIT.
It works fine just go into it with the wait thing in the front sight of what it is going to take.
