I had been on a prospective job site in Jennings, and Mermentau, Louisiana, and had a rental car. I was to drive to New Orleans to catch a flight back to Memphis. As I approached the airport, I started to exit, only to see the sign reading "NO AIRPORT RENTAL CAR RETURN." So I drove on the the next exit thinking there was where I needed to be. Only this sign read "NO AIRPORT POLICE." I made one complete circuit before I realized the sign meant "New Orleans Airport Rental Car Return."

Yeah, I felt like a blond joke!

I think THAT would be a blonde joke ONLY if you were a NO resident.

For all others in the world, it would have been the normal interpretation of that sign... certainly for me!

When I first came out here, I went over the river to MN on I90.
On the way back, I encountered a sign that said "French Is" with an arrow pointing to the exit.
I said to myself, "French is WHAT?" LOL
It meant French Island. DUH.

They used to have a sign along the 405 freeway to let the Hispanics know when to get off - It said LA AIRPORT next exit.
Today they have updated them to tell you a little bit about their city employees and they read LAX AIRPORT next exit.

I'm not a blond but I sure can pretend to be one.

I back my work van into my drive way at a slight angle that makes it hard to see any vehicles coming from the right. (Very little traffic on our street but it only takes once.) The convex wide angle mirrors I added to the side mirrors don't help and so I found an add on mirror that I put on the left side one and used for a year or two. Then it seems I hit a limb a few months back and the added on mirror came off and I did not notice it until the next day. So, I was planning to order another one, but I'm sitting in my van trying to figure out if there is a better way/place to put a mirror. Like on the passenger sun visor or such... while doing all this I accidentally hit the rear view mirror.. and it gets cocked over to the right..... and there is a perfect view of the road off to the right! Duh!
