I tried C.D.'s trick avaible light pics

This is a friends P-95 that I just did a through cleaning and detailing job on ,so I thouht I would try a few pics like C.D. did . My still camera is built into my cam corder and doesn't take the best pics ,I'm still exparmenting with the settings .
Please don't be shy ,give me your honest opion . What do y'all think?

I'd take it to a gun fight any day of the week. Looks great, and the pics aren't bad either. What did you highlight the lettering with?

Too dark for my liking. I'd set a piece of white "cardboard" behind the gun to bounce some "shadow eraser" into the scene.

Just my opinion that ain't worth the time it takes to type it......

PS The vast majority of my gun pics are taken with the gun lying on my basement floor and a couple of "reflectors" setting and/or hand held to bounce around some light. Camera on a tripod 99% of the time. Shutter almost ALWAYS tripped by the "self timer".

Gun Fan,
I used a Sharpie white paint pen .You just depress the tip untill you get the paint folwing .The tip is made of the same material as their premeant markers .so you can "force " them down into the engraving .You just go over the whole area ,wait about 20 seconds or so and then swab the area with thinner or asatone and keep repeating until you get a nice bright finish in the lettering .
This stuff is pertty tough and will last a good while ,gun solvent won't hurt it unless you let it set on it for a long time .If you ever want to remove it just soak it with thinner and use an old tooth brush and wooden tooth picks to clean out the old paint .It's really eazy to do and I think at least that it really sets the look of the gun off .
You can do the same thing on stainless guns just use a black sharpie paint marker .

hey Lou... definetly try the overcast day thing... The long shadows and heavy contrast are very hard to overcome.
I posted on the sticky about how to make a cheap "light table" that you can use with flash or available light....
In fact..I'm gonna go make a new one....
