For dinner tonight I'm making corned beef, cabbage and potatoes and since it takes so very long to make and I was hungry I cut a thick corner off the meat and microwaved it (without extra spices but what's provided in the beef package) in two 45 second sessions,
WOW that is some of, if not THE best and easiest "jerky" I've had or have made.
So I looked up corned beef jerky and while there were plenty of recipes, none used a microwave so I guess in a way I did sort of re-invent it. On the down side my 4.5 pound slab of beef is getting smaller by the minute
