How much time does it take to do a copy/paste of the data?

I don't understand removing the asking price either... or when someone reduces the asking price... leave the original up. If the final selling price is different then that can be between the seller and buyer.

I think that even when the price is left showing, we never REALLY know what the actual price paid was.....
p.s. I agree.... it seems more "courteous" to leave the asking price showing after the sale.

price haggling does go on in emails and pms. so....what you all desire to see ends up being invalid data, that misleads viewers.
plus, a lot of stuff (of mine) sells elsewhere, so again...invalid data for the viewers.
just a passing thought for those with peeves.
do you or will you post up your pay stubs for us to view weekly?

and I would be bold enough to add, it would be private information, since the 'net' is open for all to view, including IRS and tax collectors....and new communists govts.
its for this reason ale-8 makes leaving prices up as an option in his rules. hes a smart man worthy of respect; and, until he makes it law, I will decide if I (feel) like leaving prices up.

The voluntary nature of leaving the prices in place post-sale has been questioned in the past and I really don't know why it's that way. Personally, I have somewhat mixed feelings about it but it has not been something I worry about very much. :wink:
I do question the value of prices shown in the older ads running back several years other than as a historical reference, but there again I don't see any real harm in whatever an individual wants to do about this. I can see some privacy concerns in play.
Privacy concerns on a public forum? If I have a similar item for sale, it gives me a starting point to begin my sale. To those that delete your prices THANKS FOR NOTHING!

Please understand something. I used the word "research" for a reason. While I have owned and used many firearms in my life, I am by no means any sort of expert. But I do know where to find some. So, when I am at the LGS/gun show or just out and about, and I find an item that I have no personal knowledge of, I know I can come to places just like this forum and find some sort of helpful information.
I've told folks that this is the go-to place for Ruger information. And I am thankful that it allows me pretty much instant access to it's awesome database.......compiled over a 20+ year period by over 30,000 people.......and I consider it to be pretty much a priceless resource.
And, to me, the final price ain't nothin but a number that started someplace else. Don't really care what you finally sold it for in the background. All I'm looking for is to ask if what I'm looking at is a good deal or a bad deal..... :D
So, are you gonna be an useful resource, or just "that guy who sells stuff"? :idea:
