I didn't really want to buy a new gun (gunsafe already full) but on the way home from visiting my girlfriend at the library I decided to stop at the LGS to browse around. Big mistake. Ruger 1958 .357 Flattop with dimples ER button and adjustment notch on the elevation screw. A little bluing wear and some nicks here and there but locks up tightly.

You'd have kicked yourself if you had not bought it.

A fine flattop 8) that extra notch in the rear adjustment screw has been neat to me from way back---know where a EARLY microed sighted RSS is located PLUM  and the rear micro sight has the same extra notch--only one I know of--Jeff Munnell noted it years ago :)

americal,
I'm not trying to be contrary but do you mean an OM SC? Please correct me if I'm confused (again!) but aren't the RSSs all dovetail windage only sighted?

Thx,

If there isn't any room in the safe just give me a call I will take care of storage for you.

Nice find.

A micro sighted RSS4X --the sights are aftermarket adjustable sights made popular by micro sight company offering these to buyers of the Early RSS

AJAX47's flattop has the extra notch in the rear sights adjustment screw-some very early micro sights for the RSS has this same feature the extra notch in the screw----- I think this feature only on the first .357 flattops--I had a 4 diget flattop 1XXX that had the notch :) not to highjack this thread but that is a neat feature of AJAX47's Ruger 8)

Thats the nice thing about handguns, they don't take up much room in the safe. Its good to a have a lot of them so they don't get lonely. :)

Nice gun!

Ok thx, I get what you mean now. I have a sight like that; just went upstairs and looked at it. It has the little notch also.
Thank you,

NICE!
My safes are full, and the guns are carefully put in there like a puzzle. Yet, it's NEVER too full to accept another Ruger. Especially when they look like that.

I am really touched that I've had all these kind offers to help me alleviate safe overcrowding. It brings a tear to my eye. It really does.

I really enjoy my 50th Anniversary 44 so wouldn't mind coming across an old flattop, preferably with a seven and a half inch barrel (I saw one a couple of years ago, shoulda snagged it). Or maybe even another 50th at a really, really good price and putting a seven and half incher on it.

I've noticed that the grips for my 50th 357 and the original XR-3 are almost identical (except for the "ear" cut outs and the placement of the retaining pins) but the OM grip feels fuller, which I like, due to the wider grip frame.

Since I finally figured out how to post pics and since I like looking at pics and hope all y'all do too, I will probably put some more of my guns up, new or not.
