Local Pawnshop was having a tent sale and I wish I had been there earlier.
This was one of 2 long guns left in the case and for $150 + tax I brought it home.
Barrel had significant surface rust on it as well as the scope.
** Bonus - scope is a Weaver K4-C3 that's clear as can be with Weaver base and rings **
It had some rust on it too.
After a few hours of disassembly, cleaning and reassembly it looks pretty good.

Has anyone ever seen a sticker like that on the buttplate?

Serial number puts it at 1981 production.

Lost some bluing on the barrel in a few spots after several soakings and cleaning with 0000 steel wool and white Scotchbrite pads. I really should have taken some before pictures.

Yeah I am pretty sure I remember seeing that sticker on my 10/22 bought right around that same time period. Of course my sticker is long gone, but it is clear now how I knew the stock was birch. Still my one and only 22 rifle and a great shooter to boot. A true tack driver. Paid $129 for mine brand new.

I can attest to the fact that it has provided "many years of satisfactory service". LOL.

Congrats on the find!

That's a beauty. Judging by that sticker still being there, How much you'd want to bet, the person bought the gun and parked it in the closet behind the dirty laundry for 20 years? How does the bore look, my guess is it never saw a patch in its life.
