My son just told me he brought home a new Vaquero in SS and .44 mag. Since he lives elsewhere I havent seen it. He will be visiting in a couple weeks and we will be breaking it in then.

He already gave me his Taurus PT145 and then took it and gave me his Citadel 1911.
He knows I can shoot, we shoot at his house whenever I am there.
He is preparing to build a 250 yd range at his house.....
And the granddaughter has a pretty good eye, too!

I have a vaquero in 45 lc with a 7 1/2" barrel in polished stainless. It's nib never shot yet. Do they off a vaquero in 44 mag 7 1/2" in polished stainless?

Good question. I dont see his model on the Ruger website let alone a Vaquero w/7-1/2 in barrel.

Well, I found out my son's Vaquero is a Talo Distributors special model.
Eclipse day we were at a friend's house and ran a few rounds through it.
VERY sweet shooter. Nice, crisp trigger and comfortable to hold and shoot. And very accurate. We killed a couple atv wheels at about 10-15 yds. If you ever thought you wouldnt like cowboy style guns shoot a Vaquero. It sold me. I always thought the shape of grip wouldnt work but I was so wrong. I want one.

Is it one of those Birdshead grip .44s with the short barrel?

No Sir. Black textured standard shape is what I guess you would call it. 5-1/2" barrel.
