I did something stupid today......

.....but I am going to try to correct it tomorrow.

I was in one of my local gun shops today and found a M77, 30/06, black pad, Mk II, about 93-96%. The owner said I could take it home for $315 out the door. I said no because I already have 2 "06 rifles.

That was stupid for that price so I will go back tomorrow to retrieve that bad boy.

Reminds me of a good story. I had a customer who admired a collector High Standard .22 pistol I had in my handgun display case and after stopping by several times to "look" and "fondle" it still hadn't bought it. Knowing he was coming in the next day to bring some guns in that needed work, I put the High Standard in my gun safe. He walked in and immediately saw it was "gone". Told him I just sold it a half hour before he showed up! Well his jaw dropped to his belt line and his heart fell out on the floor. You should have heard him "whine"! Said he was prepared to pay me even more than I was asking for it. Well I pulled it out of the safe and told him to quit whining and put his money where his mouth was. He "left" with that High Standard that day for my "asking" price. I didn't have the heart to ask him to pay more since he was a good friend and high-up exec. with General Motors and spent a lot of money in my shop. Funny thing about it was, he never "procrastinated" again in "my" shop!...........................Dick :lol:
