Hunting polar bears joke

We were eating lunch and my dad told this joke with my 3rd grade daughter sitting right beside him. Right after she repeated it back to him, little kids are just like parrots.... I'll get in trouble if she tells her classmates at school.

How to catch s polar bear. Please excuse me if this is an old joke, I'd never heard it before and I'm still laughing two days later...

First cut a hole in the ice, the. Sprinkle green peas around the opening. When the polar bear comes up for a pea, you kick him in the ice hole.

It's funnier when said out loud...

I know, for the last couple days, my 3rd grader thought it was funny to say she's going to kick her grandpa in the ice hole.

As long as she doesn't tell her teacher that!

That was one of my Dad's favorite jokes to tell when I was elemtary age. I just told it to someone the other day and laughed more about the memory than the joke.

Told that joke to my youngest daughter many years ago and at age 32 she still thinks its the funniest joke ever.
