Hunter v Bobcat

would have been a better video if he had just turned and screamed to see how high that kitty could jump . . . . .

That bobcat was focused,, yet the phone/camera didn't bother it. And the hunter,, you can hear the turkey's nearby. Great video.

Lucky for that kid the bobcat wasn’t really intent on making a kill. That could have got ugly in a hurry. I’d rather scare him off than fight him off after he is already on me!

I've watched my farm kittens and cats for hours, stalking birds on the bird feeder and other stuff.
Wild bobcat movements and actions, for all intents and purposes, are identical to those of thier somewhat domesticated cousins.

I had a similar, but with no contact, occurrence while calling coyotes.

Agreed....I have had yotes come in to hen yelps almost into my lap when using a mouth call....never on a box or slate call though....probably the movement.

The surprised reaction they get from "HEY!" at barrels length is hilarious.

Maybe 20 years ago (before most folks even knew north MO had bobcats), a teenage turkey hunter was stalked by a bobcat. He beheaded it @ 10 yards and then had to face the bunny cop's tirade.
I've been stalked(?) by coyotes several times while calling turkeys. Never hesitated to blow them away even if it did spook some birds. ;)

If I'm hunting,, and a coyote comes in,, no matter what my preferred game is,, a coyote becomes my number one target.

But Bobcats,, they get a pass around me. They are quite enjoyable to watch,, especially when they do not know you are there.

never had any wild kitties come too close; but, some years ago while staying up in the mountains at a resort in the Ruidoso, New Mexico area, I heard a bunch of turkey hen's wandering through the brush. Then I saw the biggest Tom I've ever seen trailing them. So, I stood by a tree and let out some calls. This big guy came up so close that I could have throttled him. Then I saw the size of his spurs and decided I'd shut-up..... least he remove my manhood 😧
