Hummer EV

I’ve been watching the Mecum Auctions this weekend. There was a Hummer EV that came up for auction and reached a bid of $170,000. It didn’t sell. Guess that goes to show how much people are interested in electric vehicles. I also found out the batteries alone weighed 4000 pounds. How the world can anybody think something like that it’s good for the environment.

I have taken all the training despite not being at a certified dealer. The battery is 400 pounds not 4000. The Hummer EV has two (stacked) for the three motors. Took those Hummer classes last year. Almost done with the Silverado EV W/T training now since work is so slow. NOT looking forward to servicing them. Probably will leave the business after 30 years (to this point) if we go too heavy EV too quickly.

It's all about control. EV's are easier to control for a third party. Why do we think cars have push button start, electric shifters, GPS and mobile WiFi, etc.?

I watched a YouTube on Toyota development of a hydrogen vehicle. It gave the impression that the technology could leapfrog EV. I have no idea on the veracity but many on this forum might know if it is real of a Ruse

Well, it will likely get better mileage (range)! And Hummer owners don't get them dirty, so it might hold up!

And when it catches fire it will take less than the 6000 gallons of water to put it out (what a typical Tesla needs). The hydrogen one will be burnt extremely quickly (like the Hindenburg). Anyone caught inside won't make it out.

And at a gross, and I mean really gross, vehicle weight of over 9000 pounds, think what tires and brakes are going to cost over its (uncertain) lifetime. Not to mention the wear and tear it puts on roads where the virtue-signaling rich liberals who buy these monstrosities, subsidized by my tax dollars, avoid paying pump taxes.
