Got these two in a trade today. I gave a new stainless 10/22, and got these two. Ruger serial number lookup shows the MK I as made in 1972, and the SS as 1967. SOmeone please correct me if i got it wrong. They look great, and only need some minor cleaning. I have read that MK II mags will work in the MK I. Is that correct?

Very nice score.

I'd have gave the 10/22 straight across for "either one of them" and felt like I took advantage in the trade. But then to me 10/22's are a dime a dozen and only worth about the same.

Nice looking Standard Auto* and Single Six. Congrats.

*Mark I was the target version of the Standard Auto and usually came with either a heavy taper 6 7/8", or bull (no taper) 5 1/2" barrel, both came with an adjustable rear sight.

Were ya wearing a mask doing this deal? :D
You did quite well.
Yes, that's a "Standard" auto 22, (RST-4) and was made in 1972. Yes you can use MKII mags.
The Single-Six is a RSS5X and was made in 1967.

Thank you. Ha ha no mask. The guy I traded with was pleased as punch. He said he had there two old Ruger Guns that he never shoots and was interested in the 10/22 I was offering

So would the Standard have am A54 frame or an A100 frame? Or is the only issue is that I will have to move the follower to the other side if I get new MKII mags?

A look/see at the picture ,one can "see" the grip screw, on the left panel is lower ,close to the bottom, opposite of the "later" one,,,so that gun is an A-54, so your MK II mags would have to be "reversed" the button switched to the other side, and it will work in the early RST-4,......NICE guns, NICE 'deal" enjoy them...........
very GOOD pictures by the way, thanks for sharing!!!

NOTE. ...its always best to "look/see" the location of the grips screws location, as the serial number may NOT be of the same vintage as the grip frames, folks been swapping these around for years, A-54 or A-100.........

Very nice. 10/22's are bringing $325-350 locally for all stock standard carbines in new condition or beat up all metal older ones with scopes. To me you traded the for the OMSS and got a free MKI.

That's interesting! Yesterday I saw a brand new 10/22-RB on the rack at Dick's Sporting Goods for $249.99.
