Not what this couple thought they'd be doing on New Year's day I'm sure.

Life is fragile and always temporary. This is a disgusting story of senseless murder and destruction of property. These two animals should be shot and their worthless carcasses tossed over a barbed wire fence like coyotes.

Stay eternally vigilant... You NEVER know when the stars will align to try and make you the next victim.

My heart & prayers go out to the elderly couple and their family.

I decided long ago to be armed during my waking hours. Somebody rings my doorbell at night my hand is on the gun. Besides, they'd have to get through a screen door with wrought iron bars which stays locked until I determine who is there. Works good in the daytime as well when sales people and religious type come a knocking. I can see who it is and just shut the door if I don't want to bother. 8)

This is heartbreaking story that reminds me of an nice older couple from Oklahoma who were bushwhacked a few years ago off of I-40 near Santa Rosa in NM. They were murdered and burned in their RV by some escaped convicts from Arizona. We never know when we will be looking directly at the face of evil.
