How much should I pay?

I am looking at buying an old ('58-'65) Bearcat revolver. I found one that I like but from what I've seen, it seems that the price is too steep at $700.00. Given the following description, how much might I expect to have to pay? Thanks!

A 1959 Bearcat
This one is mint working condition (Just back from cleaning and inspection at Ruger)
The original leather holster is included

Re: conversion.

Any old model revolver Ruger gets its hands on gets modified to include new parts (incl a transfer bar) that make it safer to carry fully loaded with six. Good idea for a novice who only wants the gun for a shooter.

But for those of us who are comfortable carrying with hammer down on an empty chamber and want to preserve collector value and a smooth trigger pull, we would pass on the conversion. This is why the old model Bearcat's value is generally less if converted.

i used to have a '69 model single six that I thought of having converted but didn't. After shooting a couple of my buddy's converted ones I sure did not want mine messed with. :roll:
Either buy one unconverted or one of the newer models with the transfer bar already in it..................you will be allot happier with the gun! 8)

I see lots of Old Model Bearcats for 325-400 dollars online and in my area. Not sure if any are as old as '58 but nice guns for good prices.

Pass on it! A fellow collector just offered me a New In A Box (NIB) for $550.00 Heck he mite still have it I just don't have any spare $$$ right now!
