I have a Lipsey's 45 lc/acp convertible, medium frame,SS, 4.63 barrel. I am loading .452 Missouri Bullet Co., 255 gr SWC over 7.5 Unique. Shot about 24 rds other day with minor leading in cylinder throats with barrel looking clean and shiny. Cleaned fasirly easy with hoppy #9 and lewis lead remover. This situation sound about the norm for a 45 colt? No throat work done, is all stock. triker

I don't shoot a .45 Colt, but if that was all the leading I got in a couple of my revolvers, I might think I'd died and gone to heaven... :)

As others have said, that's about what I get. Sometimes a little in the barrel. It's not a big deal most of it pushes out pretty easily. Sometimes I need to soak a patch with some Kroil and let it sit for an hour or two and the rest pushes out pretty well.
My load is pretty close. I usually use 8gr of Unique. I've loaded 7.5 but in my Vaquero (original, not the new one) the 8.0 is te most accurate. I've gone to 9 and it thumps a bit (not bad but teh 8.0 is very pleasant to shoot and accurate).
Given what you describe, if the load is accurate, I wouldn't change a thing.
