Lucked up and found a 44 cal Hoppes Lead Remover kit today at a sports store. I guess they had it for a while because it was marked $6. It includes a rod with a ring on the end, several woven patches, an adjustable "plug" for the bore, and a cone shaped attachment for cleaning forcing cones. The only ones I can find online are for 41 cal. Have they been discontinued? It looks an awful lot like a Lewis to me. I see Midway still sells the woven disks.

Not sure about the Hoppes but Brownells bought the Lewis Lead Remover product and is according to them going to offer the product going forward. I was in dire need of patches for my .357 as I managed to lead the hell out of it with some old loads that I wanted to shoot up and they fixed me up.

There is nothing that works as well as my Lewis when a barrel is gummed up with lead, I have been shooting very little lead in the last twenty years and forgot what a job that can be. If you need additional calibers might want to try Brownells and just buy a kit.

Try wettin the barrel down with your favorite solvent then wrappin a copper pot scrubber round an old brush till it fits snug .

A few passes is all it takes & it gets the forcin cone also !!!!

I put my lewis kit up some where ????

On the Coat tails of GP100man's thread, this is my lead remover. It never takes more than a little bit of scrubbing to clean my guns, but then my bullets are the right size and hardness, but that is another thread entirely.
