Holster for SP101

Anyone carry the Ruger SP101? If so, what holster do you use? I will carry OWB...but will consider IWB carry. I have the SP101 in layaway, and hope to get it soon!

I'll chime in on this one. I like the Don Hume H721 OT for my SP101. I would have ordered one for my Speed Six too but the lead time was about 4 months.

I carry mine in a crossbreed. Very comfortable. Just got a belt from them for Christmas and it makes it even more comfortable.

I'm old fashioned. This is what I use 99% of the time. A large shirt or jacket conceals just fine, but if I need to carry IWB, I use a Bianchi 100 Professional IWB holster.

Do you have a hammer spur on that SP101? If so, it looks like the Simply Rugged covers it up nicely so that it doesn't dig into your clothing or skin. If your hammer is spurless, do you think it would entirely cover a spur?

I carry a 2 1/4" SP101 a good bit although lately I have been carrying my Colt Commander more. I usually carry mine in one of my GS OWB holsters. Feel free to check out my website and email with any questions.

In good weather, I carry the DAO 2 1/4" in a Mika Pocket Holster. In cold weather, in my front coat pocket with no holster...BANG...one coat and one BG ruined.

I recently got one of the Ramora (sp?) IWB holsters. Luckily if fits several different size/configuration pistols. read that as revolver and semi-auto. It is light weight, stays where you put it, adjusts to about any angle you could want, and is ambidextrious. I haven't carried it much, mostly around the property to get used to it. The only negative would be trying to re-holster since it is fairly pliable. But I can't see a real need to re-holster in a hurry anyway. They are fairly cheap (about $25 on ebay) so you may want to try one to see if you like it, that way you aren't putting out a big chunk of money to find out you don't like it.

Crossbreed Super Tuck for my SP101s. I have two of them, both with hammer spurs, but the back of the CB protects my side. Very comfortable all-day holsters.

I have three more holsters made by him and they are great for inside the waist carry. Very easy to adjust for tension and easy for reholstering
Very comfortable and he will customize for add ons
reasonable for cost and ships the out in just a couple of days

I've got a Simply Rugged, and, meh, I could take it or leave it. It's nothing special and doesn't really impress me, but it gets the job done I suppose. Considering the $80 it cost, it's a POS.
