I finally aquired a .41 Redhawk, now I need a good holster. Has to be crossdraw, but would be nice if it also has belt loops for strong side.

I know of a fellow that makes a very rugged trail holster for standard hip or for cross draw but not one that works for both. He specializes in Redhawk and GP holsters. You can contact him at [email protected]. He'll email you one of his catalogs. He builds them tough and doesn't charge a month's salary. My avatar is one of his creations.

I really like the Galco DAO. It can be carried strong or cross, and it carries the weight of the Redhawk very well. It is the only holster I have found that I can wear comfortably on a pants belt with that heavy gun and not feel like my britches are falling down all the time.

the Bianchi 111 Cyclone carries both ways and the one that is made for a S&W M29 also fits the Redhawk. Unfortunately it comes in either 4" or 6.5". The longer one will work, but I hate a holster that is longer than the gun.

As mentioned Simply Rugged gets high marks, and I am sure Rob makes a holster that can be carried on both sides. I think his is a pancake style.

I think that "Trailmaster" looks really cool!

+1

The sourdough pancake can be worn strong side or cross draw and makes lugging the weight quite managable. The holster is top quality.

If you would like to switch between a belt and shoulder/chest type rig their chesty puller outfit looks real nice.

To be honest, I had a SR Pancake for my SP101 and did not find it comfortable. Therefore I will be looking somewhere else this time. Nothing wrong with the holster is is high quality, we just did not get along.

For leather I've used these with great success.

A Bianchi Cyclone will also work, if you can find one.
