Was watching a movie on tv today called "The legend of Hercules". In one scene there's a bunch of archers up on the castle wall and another bunch of guys with swords and shields coming toward them, and the officer with the archers shouts to his guys "Hold your fire men". I mean, really, c'mon. Although a few minutes later one of them throws a torch into a ditch filled with oil, maybe that's what he meant, don't ya think. :lol:

Usually back then, battle commands were given by bugles, big drums, and flags or other visual signals. Got pretty noisy to be giving voice commands to 10,000 troops and a couple thousand horses, etc., and expect them to hear you. :shock:
