I know, and don't mean to start a war but, 454 Casull Redhawk can come back mighty hard. Hogue makes a "Tamer" grip. It's model 80020. Question is: is there another monogrip from Hogue that is not a "Tamer" grip but looks the same. Seems I remember some Hogue grips that had a blue filler behind the Redhawk grip strap. The ones I bought don't have any blue filler. Does that mean mine really aren't tamers?

There are no Redhawks in .454 Casull.

You must be thinking of the Super Redhawk .454 guns. There are three Ruger factory grips for that frame. They interchange with the GP-100 also. And yes one of them has a 'sorbothane' pad in what would be the backstrap area.

Yes . .. a Super Redhawk. So, the blue doesn't show on that grip. I hope so

Here are the standard Hogue Grips. They have an odd hump in the backstrap that I do not find particularly comfortable, but they do force the handgun to role more, and they keep the knuckle from getting knocked around.

Here are the Hogue Tamer Grips. They do not have the hump, but do have the blue sorbothane inside the grip. I recently bought myself a set. I was able to install them, but did not get to shoot the handgun before I had to return from leave. I must say that was impressed with the way they feel in the hand. They feel more like what I feel grips should feel like.

I agree with what Leucoandro said. I did not like the hump on the standard Hogue grip that comes on the GP100 so I put on a Hogue Tamer grip and it feels much better in my hand but I haven't had the opportunity to shoot the gun with it yet.
