I borrowed a 70 quart discount house Igloo cooler for my 9 week vacation last year. I had to feed that thing ice non stop. I plan on getting out and about as soon as the weather cools a bit so it was time to get a cooler that will keep stuff cold for about 5 days. Lots of coolers and accessories are out of stock; I guess they can blame it on the Rona.
I've been researching the different brands for about a week. I really didn't want to buy a Yeti after their NRA fiasco. I don't believe Yeti is anti NRA, but their timing really sucked when they dropped their discount program the same time other big names were. I looked at and researched just about every brand and when it came to having it all, Yeti came out on top every single time, and they're priced accordingly. Yeti is a bit tight lipped, but sources say their Tundra series is built in the Philippines. Strike 2, NRA was strike 1.
RTIC coolers look good for the $, but they're made in China. Plus their dry goods racks that fit in the top of the coolers were out of stock. I won't have a cooler without a rack or two. China :x
I really liked what ORCA had to offer, and they're not cheap, either! 100% USA made with USA materials in Nashville, TN or Streetsboro, Ohio. Huge thumb's up! One problem: I need the drain plug to be on the right for easy draining out the side door of the van, and ORCA has them on the left side
The rubber non stick feet on these high end coolers really stick which would make it difficult to turn 180* for draining. Bummer because I liked their taller style 58 quart model because I use it for a seat when changing clothes. Yeti's tall cooler that I like is their Tundra 105 which is actually about 84 quarts.
I call ORCA. Yes, the 58 qt. all drain on the left. Shipping would be from Nashville in about 5 days. Are the cooler feet sticky? No. Cool! That means I can turn the cooler on the rubber mat in my van.
I still wanted to go back and look at the Yeti's. I sure did like that 105, but it's bigger than I need and--Yeti.

Again I went and looked at the Yetis and one ORCA. Those Yeti's are so nice, but Yeti. I came home and filled out everything to get the USA made ORCA 58 with accessories. The 15% code worked! I've never seen a Yeti code. It was ready to submit and I hesitated. 30 minutes later and there's a 25% off all ORCA products code from ORCA. I ordered. For anyone looking the code is DON25. It probably only lasts for a short time.
ORCA--100% made in the USA and a partner with the NRA! Do I think the ORCA is every bit as good as the Yeti? No, but it's close enough. The real world difference in price though I'm comparing a 58 quart ORCA with a 25% discount to an 84 quart Yeti--$268.
If you don't want to buy from Yeti, and you don't want to buy one made in China, you might want to look at the ORCA's. Plus, ORCA has a lifetime warranty and Yeti's is 5 years. That didn't influence my decision, but...
