It has my .25-20 info. Now, I need 2400 powder.

Until they all closed I used to frequent used book stores and scored a number of manuals. Some are less relevant now due to changes in powders, but all are interesting

For those longing for a copy, eBay is your friend.

It will irk some to pay for literature that may have originally been free… but for less than $10, you can get a copy delivered to your door.

I have one like pictured, marked 1985. A different cover on another, 1991 & still labeled Hercules. My next is larger in size from 2009 & marked Alliant.
If anyone needs a load that they think might be in the early book PM me. Also have a Lyman from 1970 that's full of cast bullet loads. Again, these can usually be found on Ebay.

Now, I'm not a Co. rep or lawyer but be cautious with the data in old manuals. Some powders have changed in burning rate for sure. Alliant/Hercules 2400 is a prime example. Another example is the Speer no. 8 manual. Some rip snortin loads in that one that even Speer later admitted were very high pressure.

I used and sold a lot of powder Hercules especially as I was in shotgun country. I have at least one from every free manual they gave out from late 60's early 70s. I never really collected the cardboard cans...Still have a few 15 pound cardboard kegs. I used to use them for empty shotshells. I do have quite a few(30 -40) of the little square metal and some of the earlier square cardboard cans with pour spouts like came on Morton salt...Quite a few are full of powder too...even the rifle powders...somewhere in the vault downstairs I even have a couple of the giveaway Fiocchi ammo loaded with one of the new Alliant powder...don't remember which one...American select??nI just enptied the last of some Herco from a small metal keg...use it just like Unique

Have a selection of the old hand outs, Winchester, Dupont/IMR, Hercules/ Alliant and Hogdon, all from the 80's and 90's and early 2000"s. Haven't seen these in years, do they still get released by the powder companies?

Alliant still has a " free " hand out , most others you must buy .

I haven's seen an Alliant only handout but I got this one at a gunshow earlier this past year.
