Henry X Models - Update: Retail price info

Henry has created a line of Tactical models based on the Big Boy Steel rifles, that will be available within a week or so. These have black synthetic furniture, fiberoptic sights, and rail for lights etc. and the side gate, among other things. Calibers: .357/.38, .45 Colt, and .44mag/special. Look for them at the Henry booth at Shot on Tuesday. Here's the first advert pic with some info:

a "tactical" lever action just seems wrong. I get they might have been the original tactical weapon
many years ago.

As strange as it might seem, i actually kind of like that. I seem to recall (i hope accurately) that Jeff Cooper thought the lever rifle could be the perfect urban defense rifle. His only "complaint" was the weak area where the butt stock joins the receiver. I have thought about that over the years, maybe he was right. In any event, i can definitely see the practicality of that platform.

I take it you have not seen the new Remington/Marlin "Black Rifle" line of big bores. They are probably saving them for the SHOT show.

Yes, I live under a rock most of the time, but I still don't know why a "tactical" is better for shooting a something or someone than a non-tactical gun :mrgreen:

I just ran a search on this model (H012MX) and found a few on-line retailers that are advertising it. One listed a .357/.38 at $699. So it looks like the retail price for this model will be lower than folks expected.

The models all have threaded muzzle for can, etc.

Blued steel for all metal parts exposed to the elements, except for the brass inner mag tube. See the Henryusa site I posted up thread.

Great Company, great Idea, great new Concept coming
to life. I will be keeping an eye out for this 45-70 Government
Cartridge Tactical Rifle.

I want the Marlin SBL 45-70 (Jurassic Park) Stainless
Steel/Laminated Stock, but they are hard to find locally.

I like to Reload so it will be inexpensive to shoot. I like the
Idea of loading cartridges though the Magazine Tube (it is
easier on the Cartridges).

I am looking forward to purchasing this Henry 45-70 Govt Rifle.

Don't know if your local gunshop has it on the shelf, but they are available at some on-line retail gunshops, or your local guy can order one for you. Don't pay more than $800 for it. Probably can get it for less.

My favorite Local Gun Shop is a Top Notch World Class Establishment.
They carry all kinds of the Henry Rifles.

Last Summer Anthony Imperato, the Owner of Henry Rifle paid them
a surprised visit, said he was passing through and stopped by.

Of course it happen on the day I didn't go there, that one time.

I'm sure LGS will have some in pretty soon. As for price I'm sure it
will be above $800, we'll see, I'm patient.
