Help: Which Do You Like? Match Champion 10MM

I love panel grips and was trying to decide if I wanted some for my Match Champion in 10mm. I removed them from my 3in GP100 357 where they are a perfect match. But they look to small on the match champion due to it's 4 inch barrel looks out of place to me. I guess I could get the full size panel grips.

The original wood panel grips fit my hand but just look to big to me :)

I don’t like the standard grips that come on the match champion. I think they hav ugly lines, so I like the bottom pictured ones. The wood grips that come on the blued half underlug models are beautiful. They have very nice lines.

I agree with you on the grips for the Blued model -- beautiful and functional.

I like the one with the inserts, that can be changed easily. They look better to me, and I know they are functional! Good luck!

As an instructor,, I TEACH "fit & comfort."

If both fit you,, do a range test & see how each one performs for you. Choose the ones that work the best. If both are equal in all ways,,, then let appearance rule.

I'd prefer the rubber grips personally. A little bit of cushion can go a long way on range day.

I think the Hogue finger groove rubber grips are the best comfort feeling to me , good for both DA & SA . Ruger factory grips, rubber with insert, are too square on the backside.

Neither. For me, any Hogue monogrip goes in the parts box. The walnut Roper not only looks best but feels best. Altamont now has them in stock with checkering. I managed to trade into a second set.

My experience for what its worth. I have the 357 Match Champion (and have the itch for the 10 as well). I went down the rocky road on grips as the originals were OK but I'm new to double action with small hands and wanted something better suited to me. I tried the Hogue rubber finger grove(OK) and the large rubber grip with panels(too big for me) as well.

Then Ruger put the compact rubber grips on ShopRuger. I too thought they might look undersized on the MC but when I got them I think they look fine. And trumping all, they really work well for me. I also like that they protrude less for mountain carry.

I am glad to hear that they function well for you on the 10MM.

What might be odd is I changed my SP101 from those style grips to the Hogue rubber monogrip for function at the expense of looks.

I like the compact with panels--both for looks and fit. Bill Ruger was proud of these as well! Just gives it a RUGER look!
