I have 2 loose Blued cylinders from dad's stash . No idea what they fit. So far no gun with a missing cyliners

First:
cartridge entrance diameter .485
cartridge exit diameter .450
OAL without the hubs- 1.748
OAL with hubs- 1.960
seems to be cut for moon clips

Second:

cartridge entrance diameter .447 ( a 44 mag does not go in flush, short about 1/8)
cartridge exit diameter ..358
OAL without the hubs- 1.641
OAL with hubs- 1.952

measurement close but just used dial calipers

Thanks

First cylinder is an Old Model .45. The relief you see is cut for firing pin. Different from New Model. I don't know what you have on second cyl. Not a 9 MM? Should be a .357 with that throat size

I would think a 44 Mag in a 357/44 Bain and Davis would stick out a lot farther than 1/8'

The 357 is way to big but you jogged my memory. dad had a Bobcat modification which IIRC was a 44 mag case with the 357 tip. This must be the cylinder for it. He has some brass for the bobcat. I'll have to check but that must be it.

So the first is a 45 Colt OM Blackhawk from a convertible?

Yes, probably a convertible. Look into loading end. Short or long throat? Long throat is ACP cylinder. I have a 1972 year like this. Not sure how many years convertibles were produced. Just a few, I believe. RENE 4th Revision has 3 years. 1971,'72,'73.
