OR anyone else !! Have a very nice older holster that is brand new. It is unlined style. Problem is , its very stiff. What can I use to soften it up so as not to rub the finish on my blue revolver as much as possible

Thanks
Steve

Love Hubbard's boot grease for all things leather. It will darken the leather a bit as it soaks in but great stuff. Slather on and put the leather in a vehicle on a sunny day and watch the magic happen.

Hi,

Another Huberd's fan here. On items with seams, I put the can in the sun until the stuff melts to almost a liquid, and apply with a small brush. That seems to help get plenty into the seam and stitching. You may have to order it online. I get Huberd's and some of my other leather care supplies from www.shoecaresupplies.com Their prices and service have been good to me.

Hi. I use Lexol Leather Conditioner hand rubbed into the leather gently and allowed to dry, then I top coat with Fiebing's Resolene acrylic finish. Lexol can be bought online or at many farm stores, but better prices are to be had for Lexol and Fiebing's online in my experience. Don

TALLBALD has iterated my opine… mirrors exactly what I do… on every leather product that I now own.

This is my best saddle… made by the great D. R. Schrader… up in Darby, MT…. he is currently retired…

He gave me the same formula that TALLBALD gave… and it really, really works….

These are the old pics… straight from D. R.’s discontinued website….
Saddle… breast collar… saddle bags… rifle scabbard… and canteen. You have to scroll down to cover all the pics…

The saddle… sitting in one of my office rooms…
BTW… I ride this saddle often… many times up in the Colorado Rockies…

This saddle… sitting in my office in that pic… now has 3,000 horse-miles on it. Still looks like new…. Herman-Oaks leather… it’s just a great saddle….
