Hawkeye 257 weight

Looking at either a #1A or a Hawkeye in 257 Roberts. Anyone have a Hawkeye in 257 and care to comment about the weight? The website lists the weight as 8 pounds. I am just wondering if they put the same contour barrel on it as they do the 25-06.

same countor just 2 inches shorter. Only haweyes i have are a 7 mag and a 264. My 1a 257 feels a bit lighter but id guess thats more because the weight of a #1 is centered a bit farther back which makes them fell a bit lighter in the hand. Niether are what i would consider a heavy gun.

My little 257 #1 is a sweatheart. Im sure youll be pleased with one. Sure wish the wallet was fatter as id love to pick up another in 250-3000!!!

I found a #1A on Gunbroker yesterday in 257, NIB for $800. Now I just have to wait for it to get here.
