Harris bipod on my 10/22 question

What's the best way to mount my Harris bipod on my new 10/22 Target rifle?

Off the top of my head.........Put a sling swivel mount stud on the front barrel band tightening screw for the stock. They must come as a kit, as I have one old stock set up that way...........(Unless you want to drill a hole and mount a stud on the fore stock........(.NO_NO_NO............don't do that!)

Question is what is the mounting adapter I need so I'd be able to have the same set-up or similar?

Do I remover the front sling swivel?

This is what I want to do on my Ruger.

Those bi-pods are mounted backwards. Will cause stress on forearm from recoil when fired. Legs should fold forward.

I just picked up a stainless target and bought a bipod for it.Mine will clamp on to the front sling swivel mount but got a sling swivel semi permenently monted to the mount.I'm going to change it for a bare mount or just bend the swivel off.I'm guessing you have the same issue.
