I had a booth at a small gunshow in Verde Valley, AZ prior to the 08 election, in the firearms feeding frenzy period before we all got complacent again (and BROKE). Put a bunch of AR's and M1 Rifles out, mostly for display. Sold a ton of ammo, dies, powder, etc. It was real busy. Guy had been by twice to look over a SIG P220 I had, in the box all the papers, nice piece. He came back once more with two BNIB Rugers. The blue, 6" Security Six I have here on the classifieds and a SS Old Army in the same, 99.9% condition. He asked me if I'd take the two in trade straight up for the P220. I had to remain calm and say, well...... sure. He was a local LE officer and had bought them at an estate sale (presumably very cheap) and wanted that P220 badly, so he went away happy and I went home very happy. Pretty sure that was my best gun show deal ever. I already had a blue ROA so now I have a dueling set. Just need to build a nice walnut box for them. H.

Good deal. Both parties are happy.

My latest deal was from Gander Mountain of all places. I had been toying with the idea of picking up a stainless Blackhawk as a fishing gun. Stopped in my local GM store one Sunday, and they had a Liberty 4-5/8" stainless, in .357 for $209.00! It had some rub marks on it, and the ERH was all banged up on the end, but I could live with that. I about tore the pocket out of my jeans getting my wallet out. Clerk asked if I wanted their Pro-Plan(warranty)? I said no, these are rock solid, and I didn't think I'd need it. They must of had a spiff for their clerks to sell the Pro-Plan because the clerk then told me he'd sell me the gun with the Pro-Plan for the same price as without. ??? I said OK. He came with the total, $208.00 counting tax and Insta-check. A little Scotch Brite work to the frame and cylinder, and filing on the ERH and it looks sweet. Only downside is the grips were Pachmayr's. Gunshow this weekend so I'm off trying to find a pair of factory grip panels.

Where? I don't see any posting for a Sec-Six in the classifieds. :?
