I went to our normal Gun Show here in town they have every few months here. I have to say it is now too much for me.. I can't really deal with the crowd and the 300 + venders .... I tried to walk around to see if I could find some cannon fuse and Tannerite but finally after about 10 minutes decided it was time to get what I actually came for and get home.

The surprise was that my ammo vender was actually there with a well stocked booth, Georgia Arms. For those that don't know; the factory was hit by lightning a few weeks ago and had a bad fire and they are shut down for a while... so is their web site... I'm in charge of hosting a shoot in a few weeks and needed to buy ammo for our small organization..... In the past a guy from Florida brings up a couple of fully automatic rifles and he supplies the ammo for these as well as some others... but he's not coming this year and so it is up to me and a couple other guys to offer some examples of what we have. Regular guns for common citizens.

I bought 500 rounds of 5.56 ammo as well as 9mm and then a smaller amount of some other calibers.. One of which is some 30-06 fmj ammo. I plan to let anyone that wants to shoot the M1 Garand I bought for my late father's 80th birthday just so they can understand and appreciate what the average American foot solder had to carry and use in WWII. I've actually got a Savage Bolt action in 30-06 with a light composite stock that kicks worse than that M1 I might also bring.
But I'm going to leave the Gibbs bolt action one I bought from Ron in Pa here at home... damn trigger on it is just too light and dangerous to let others mess with.

As for "fun" I guess the best I can do is bring my "Angry Joe AR-14" manufactured by the Palmetto State Armory for folks to shoot. Maybe the Ruger Mini 30 and get rid of some of the commie ammo I have for it... but last time we shot it with Russian ammo it looked like someone had poured mud down the barrel.

That's why most of the Commie SKS & AK barrels were chrome-lined (and some at least used really hard barrel steel). "Strong like bull!"

As always FWIW, IMHO, YMMV, etc., etc.
:)
