Found this Single six, new model, prewarning at local gunshop for 175.00. 22mag only cylinder. Needs a little TLC, but should be a serviceable shooter. What do ya'll think?

If that had 3 screws instead of 2 pins it would be a really rare gun....still a great gun and price....RR.

Yes if it had a "Star" stamped in front of the trigger guard and a 22 L.R. cylinder instead of a 22 Mag. cylinder, it would be just as rare as the Old Model, although it wouldn't bring as much money. I was lucky to have found "2" of the 4 5/8 in. Old Model Super Single-sixes. But I never found a Blue 4 5/8 in Star!!!

Sir, Welcome to the forum! great deal on a great little shooter!!

You read my mind Street! I always check out every NM blue 4 5/8" gun
I see. I own one thanks to a friend who spotted one in a gun shop in
North Canton a few years ago. I bought the gun sight unseen for $759.00
out the door and would have paid 1K.
As to what one would bring on the forum here or an auction site remains to be seen because I have NEVER seen one offered up!

Radical has had the extreme pleasure of having access to TWO S4's and one of those (Tulsa I believe) was BOXED!!!! but being a die hard OM Collector he passed them on to a friend! (both guns) :D :D .

What are there now Six NM Collectors out there now ??
Terry

By now,, you have realized you got a great shooter,, and at a very fair price. You should be able to find a NM 22 LR cylinder for it fairly easily,, if you place a WTB ad in the classifieds here,, for around $40. Then,, you'll have the versatility of both calibers.
So,, have ya shot this beauty yet?

I've always been an Old Model Ruger Collector. But I would not ever, ever pass up buying a very rare New Model. There may be only 6 New Model Ruger Collectors    out there now, but in the future I'm sure there will be more, maybe 10 or 12.

I would have traded my extra SC4 for a S4, and not ask for boot. At one time I had all of the S and KS guns except for the S4, and I looked for years for that gun and never found it!!!

Well I did buy one once .......I didn't know what it was and thought the mag cylinder was missing......box and papers for $190......turned out to be an S4.....I figured this out years later after I made a whopping $50 "profit" :? :? :? I took the 50 bucks and bought a few books    see ya RR.

Appreciate the replies. I got it cleaned up, changed out the grip panels to some walnut hogue grips. I ordered an 8 shot cylinder from Midway, I'll update once parts are in.

Nice job. 4 and 5/8 are cool. I got a new one in SS and I love it. It shoots just as good as my 9 and 1/2 blued , 9 and 1/2 SS star. The four digit Flatgate well I think it outshoots it but that may just be in my head. Anyway you got a steal enjoy it.
