I have seen some people on other forums post about replacing their guide rod springs as a preventive maintenance measure. I have 2 .40 caliber semi-auto pistols (a P944 & a XD-40) that have somewhere around 3000 rounds through them. IIRC they spoke of changing the springs at 3000 rounds. What springs do you replace on your pistols & how often do you do it?

I've never replaced one before, even on one of my pistols that's 20 years old, and I can't imagine it being necessary after only 3000 rounds.

Mike J, I only replace springs when they "stop" functioning the way they were engineered to! The "exception" would be to replace them with a lighter or heavier spring kit for "enhanced" function or personal preference!............................Dick
