I've held off on bringing this up but I'm down to the wire so here it goes.

Tomorrow at about 0700 hrs the surgeon is going to open me up, replace a heart valve and bypass three arteries.

Obviously, I won't be online for a bit. I appreciate any good thoughts you can send my way.

Thanks

You have my good thoughts. I suggest you research on-line for helpful things to take with you. Slippers are a must have item. Things in a bag small enough to have on the bedside table can really help. Make certain you know how often you can use the pain relieve button. I thought it was only every 30 minutes when, in fact, it was every 5 minutes. That error cost me two days of significant pain.

Thoughts and prayers go out to you, just went through the bypass thing in May. You'll be up and around in no time.

It's a common operation now... had it done May 20th. The first couple of months you'll be sore, gets better every week.

This year has been the "year of the doctor" for me! Big toe on my left foot was amputated(Feb.), then a stint was put in my leg(Jan.) to increase circulation, then bypass heart surgery(May)....

Got to go to dentist for dentures, which I was going to do before the other crap started!

I had my prostate removed last year and if the insurance approves another operation......

I'm going to get A Penile Implant (penile prosthesis).... so when I say "F***'m".. I want to be able to do it and have an erection lasting longer than 4 hours... and not have to call the doctor!

Best at ya!

I send my thoughts and prayers always. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and that your recovery is speedy. Looking forward to hearing your post-surgical stories.

Hi,

Prayers coming from a few miles inland, Jeepnik. Hope the recovery's as quick and easy as such things can be, though you'll probably appreciate that old line about "It only hurts when I laugh" for a while. Folks I've known who just had the bypass part were told by their docs to do a lot of walking afterwards, so if yours says the same, be sure to do it. Best of luck!

Praying that all went well today.

Please if you can avoid it do not sneeze. It can be quite painful.
